Thanks islandmom! I am getting so excited and reading your advice made me wish I was there right now!
What has the weather been like? What have the waves been like? I read in a book that april is still big wave season on the north shore...is this true?
Melissa- why did your family choose Tiki's for Easter Sunday? My family is looking at that option right now as well and I wanted to get your feedback first. Have you heard anything about the Sunday brunches at Turtle Bay or New Ontani Hotel?

Well, there are a couple of reasons for choosing Tiki's. We have a buffet brunch EVERY Easter & Mom's Day, so we have pretty much done everything. Tiki's is new, as is their buffet brunch, and my niece Cymri works there so it's a feather in her cap to bring in such a large party. Also the food there off the menu is good and we're pretty sure the buffet will be good. I can post the menu here if you want.
I've eaten lunch at Tiki's before and you get a nice view of Waikiki Beach. I had to admit it was a nice, relaxing thing to do. And, the food is good.
I've had brunch with my running friends on Sundays at the New Otani, at the Hau Tree Lanai. They do not have a buffet. It's kind of expensive but not a rip off. You're really paying for the atmosphere, which is beachside. Whenever we eat there we agree that we take it for granted--brunch in that kind of setting is really the stuff that tourists flock to Hawaii to have!
I haven't done the Turtle Bay brunch--too far.

Wow this thread is taking on a life of its own. Travelmom, go online and look up trail photos as well as sight photos. Do a search "ancient sites Photo oahu" or "tourist sites Oahu Photo"
Always helps you in planning to see a photo.
