We go to the happy hour at the M&S at Crabtree here in Raleigh, especially for the mussels ... OMG good! They give us excellent bread to dip in the sauce. Last time, we had those, plus Buffalo Wings, Sweet Potato Fries, and a great Bruschetta! Didn't need dinner, all yummy for a ridiculously low price ... Their Sangria, when they have it, is delicious ...

I always hear folks going to M&Sfor the $1.99 Happy Hour menu - but for a nice dinner, I hear Gibson's alot.

Near your hotel, just north of the river in my neighborhood, there's Keefer's Steakhouse and Joe's Seafood and Shaw's Crabhouse. Those places are always popular - I particularly like Shaw's. They all serve steak/fish. However, prices do edge up close to $50 for steaks.

Hope you have a great time in Chicago!

The Happy Hour items at M&S actually run from $1.95 to $4.95, depending upon what you choose, but still a terrific deal.

In Chicago at Happy Hour S&M offers a vodka martini for $6.95, Woodbridge wines for $5.95, beer for $3.95. The best food deals seem to be a hamburger for $2.95. The menu is weak on salad and vegetables--only Potato Chips topped with Blue Cheese Cream Sauce ($3.95).
I weep. Chicago has so much better to offer.

Thanks for the reply guys. Had a GREAT time in Chicago. M&S was a good choice for us. Prices were reasonable, and the food was good. I checked out the menu at Mortons, but prices were higher than M&S. Went for steak, ended up all four of us got seafood. Also, tried the big 3 in pizza choices, and liked them all. Chicago --- great place to visit. Thanks again.
