Hello, I'm running the Maui marathon for the first time this year and was wondering if anyone out there had been to the Carbo Load Luau before. Is the entertainment as good as the other Luau's on the island? Thank you for your help.

I think it depends on what you are expecting as far as "good" luau entertainment. I don't think it's totally like the other commercial luaus--it will most likely be a combination of luau entertainment + contemporary entertainment. The Honolulu Marathon only has contemporary entertainment.

I think you might still want to go anyway, if you are a Hawaii visitor.

Also if you decide to skip the luau, you may want to try carbo loading at The Ale Bar. the owner is an ultra runner (just did his 103rd marathon) so I am sure he's got something going.
