Martha's Vineyard restaurants

My wife and I are staying in Edgartown for our 2nd anniversary in a couple of weeks. We're only there one night, and I'm looking for a romantic restaurant.
We both don't love seafood (I know!), so we are looking for variety.
Any suggestions?

I would try the Black Dog - You have to say you ate there if you go to Martha's Vineyard.
Have fun!

Please ignore the Black Dog recommendation--rustic and good but touristy and not what most consider romantic:

1. L'etoile: French. Far and away the best and most expensive place to eat on the Island. In the Charlotte Inn in Edgartown Incredibly romantic.

2. Lambert's Cove Country Inn: Beautiful and romantic with great food, many non-seafood options. BYO. In West Tisbury.

3. Theo's: Great healthful cuisine at the very romantic Inn at Blueberry Hill in Chilmark. Also BYO.

4. Beach Plum Inn: In Menemsha, BYO. Good but perhaps a bit overpriced and heavy seafood focus.

5. Chesca's: In Edgartown, more casual, but fun and young crowd. Lots of good non-seafood options. Nice rocking chairs in front on which to enjoy cocktails while you wait for your table. Have fun!

Thanks SN,
Those seem more realistic. I've seen Chesca's and L'etoile mentioned before and will probably reserve one of those.
We'll go buy our T-shirt at the Black Dog on our way back home (unless the article I read a few months ago is true, and it is now offensive to islanders to buy from the store b/c of the production being done on the mainland?)

I don't know about the Black Dog controversy, but the Black Dog is still a decent bakery and a nice place to grab a cup of jo and a muffin that employs a fair number of people on the island--nothing more, nothing less. I generally avoid their merchandise shop only in Edgatown because it's teeming with tourons.

In general, Islanders tend to get worked up about a lot. Some of their pet causes are noble such as banning mopeds, trying to thwart development on every last inch of developable land on an already crowded island, and the continual fight against fast food joints and other franchises that would destroy the integrity of the Vineyard. Other causes seem to stem more from boredom, and the Black Dog t-shirt issue seems to fall into that category.
