Macon Georgia - I had no idea...
Wow, I did not know they had so many historic homes! It sounds just beautiful. I bet late March/early April would be a great time to visit.

It is gorgeous. And there are a lot of good restaurants in the downtown area that have popped up in recent years.

Although I most often stay at the LaQuinta. It's a really nice one and softer on the expense account
BTW, if you liked the movie Fried Green Tomatoes, you can visit the filming location - Juliette GA - and actually eat at the Whistlestop Cafe.

OWJ and I drove around and through Madison on our way to Charleston and it is a beautiful small town. I think it was Conde Nast that profiled Madison some years ago as being one of the top towns to visit..hope you are able to visit it flygirl.
