Macon Georgia - I had no idea...
Wow, I did not know they had so many historic homes! It sounds just beautiful. I bet late March/early April would be a great time to visit.

It is gorgeous. And there are a lot of good restaurants in the downtown area that have popped up in recent years.
This B&B is wonderful - http://www.1842inn.com/ Although I most often stay at the LaQuinta. It's a really nice one and softer on the expense account :-) BTW, if you liked the movie Fried Green Tomatoes, you can visit the filming location - Juliette GA - and actually eat at the Whistlestop Cafe. |
If you are in the area, also visit Madison GA
http://www.madisonga.org/ Their tours of homes - in spring and Christmas holidays - are wonderful. "The most cultured and aristocatic town on the stagecoach route from Charleston to New Orleans" 1845 guide to Georgia |
OWJ and I drove around and through Madison on our way to Charleston and it is a beautiful small town. I think it was Conde Nast that profiled Madison some years ago as being one of the top towns to visit..hope you are able to visit it flygirl.

Hi
This really didn't even hit my radar, but, I have friends in Atlanta I am hoping to visit for a weekend sometime this spring - if I do, Macon is a must. |
