LV to SanFran roads on a harley...
Hi from Australia,
Im meeting friends for a long weekend in vegas on 26th march 2015. Then from Mon 30th mar I'll be on a Harley with no set plans until the following weekend. I'm quite looking forward to the open road and some quiet time alone after partying. I plan to ride to sanfran over 2 days using this route http://gocalifornia.about.com/od/top...m#step-heading basically the 95 into the 190 into the 395 into the 89 then 50.
My question is will all those roads be open and safe for a motorcycle in a couple of weeks? Im worried the 89 might be closed...can anyone help steer me with current conditions please?
many thanks

Just one word of advice - keep an eye on your gas tank and always get gas when you can -- before you need it.
A couple of years ago, my husband rode from New Mexico to San Francisco and almost ran out of gas. He passed a station without topping up, believing there was another gas station not far ahead. There wasn't, anymore.
So, his takeaway - always get it while you can!
