Thanks for all the suggestions. The little one crashed on the flight from Atlanta to LaGuardia and just started waking up after arrival and getting off the plane. LaGuardia is a zoo and I knew we weren't ready for lunch so we picked up our luggage, picked up the car at Hertz with a brief stop at lost and found at the Hertz counter to see if I could find something I left last month in a car there, and then headed to the Buccaneer Diner for lunch. The little one devoured his grilled cheese and my hamburger patty was pretty good with a very decent salad. Had a great waiter who kept bringing us more straws as they all ended upon the floor. No problems parking and no problems making it to the Whitestone Bridge. the little one enjoyed being out of his car seat for a brief time as well.
I had packed us a ton of food which was a pain, but we ended up eating some of it for dinner so it all worked out.
