Even having traveled all over the world, my favorite is still laying in bed at the Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs - sliding doors wide open, fire in the fireplace and seeing the sunrise on Pike's Peak and then the red rocks of the park. Magnificent every time. AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL was written seeing this view.

It would be hard to pick just one because of the varied scenic views... My top three would be view of Pacific Ocean and surrounding rain forest from La Paloma Lodge in Costa Rica, view of Alps from a Holiday Inn in Innsbruck and view of Cathedral Rock in Sedona from the Penrose B&B.

Oooh, I love questions like this. Makes me wander back in my memories ..
Bermuda, watching a storm come in.
Jamaica, watching the birds diving for fish in the water of Discovery Bay, from our villa bedroom window.
Goofiest sight, London, watching teams of bobbies walking down the street together..hundreds of them!
Rain on a November morning in Paris.
Snow in Central Park from the Plaza Hotel one anniversary with my husband.
~sigh, good question, stellaluna~

Scarlett:
Goofiest sight: Not from the window, but from the street--coming out of London's Gloucester Road Tube station onto Cromwell Road and meeting those hoardes of bobbies, all of whom were wearing skirts, all of whom were men.
Most memorable view from the window: a corner room in an Athens hotel with the Temple of the Athenian Zeus from one side and the Acropolis from the other. And some idiot had drawn the drapes.

All of Acapulco Bay at sunset, from our casita's private pool at Las Brisas, Acapulco.
A hanging display of green and red aurora over the frozen Arctic Ocean in Alaska.
Sacre Coeur over the rooftops of Paris from our hotel in the Marais.

This thread is what travel is all about for me: priceless memories that can never be taken away. Scarlett, I agree that my most profound memories have something to do with who I shared them with - in my case my lifelong friend and husband. A few of my many favorites:
On the balcony of our cruise ship at 5:30am, approaching Istanbul. The whole city twinkled, accented by domes of brilliantly lit mosques, while a fleet of rustic fishing boats puttered out to sea.
Arriving late on a snowy winter night at a hotel in Austria where we were ushered to a comfy room and slept like babies in a huge bed covered to our noses with a fluffy featherbed. In the morning we threw open the shutters and beheld blue sky, puffy clouds and brilliant sunshine relecting off a myriad of skiers shushing down a sparkling snowy mountain.
Costa Rica where the bed in our cottage had a wall to floor view of the ocean and jungle, complete with swinging monkeys.
I am looking forward to the view jvrab12 had at the Essex House. We have reservations there next February for the Cristo installation. I reserved a park view room, hoping to see the installation from the hotel.

About 8 years ago, I had occasion to stay at a Holiday Inn in Hartford, CT. After checking into my room, I walked across the hall to talk to a friend, who was also staying there. The view from the window of her room was of what looked to be a nightclub, with this huge ugly black gorilla on top.
Returning to my room on the other side of the hallway, I went to the window and opened the curtains, and WHOA! Right in front of me was the Connecticut state capitol building, with its sparkling golden dome, surrounded by a park dotted with beautiful trees.
I took some great pictures of that magnificent view, framed by my 2 cats sitting on the windowsill, apparently enjoying the view as much as I.
During the night, the headboard of my bed fell off the wall, and I woke up the next morning underneath it.
Between that event and the view, I've never forgotten the Hartford Holiday Inn!
