Looking for Ft. Lauderdale beach area restaurant suggestion
Hello. Next week, my husband and I will spend a night at the Il Lugano hotel in the Ft. Lauderdale beach area. We'd love restaurant suggestions for lunch and dinner. Must be casual as we don't want to dress up. Any places you've been to that has great food? Not that I think you'd suggest a place that serves crappy food
. We like American, Italian, Mexican and Italian food. We will not have a car. You guys have never failed me every time I've asked for restaurant suggestions. Thanks in advance!

The Rustic Inn
Not beachfront, but waterfront. And not walking distance, kind of by the airport. BUT wonderful crab. And very fun casual place. Here's an article about it:

Mango's on Las Olas is a casual cafe setting several blocks from the beach. Very popular.
If you are interested in upscale Mex consider Eduardo de San Angel.
On the intercoastal, is a chain, J. Alexander that is typical of the Houston's chain but has better food. This location is nicely decorated and with a great water view. Try calling ahead and see if it does any good. This place is really busy.

On Las Olas in the same area as Mangos:
Cafe de Paris - french - a bit more upscale
Big City Tavern - family general food
Le Bonne Crepe - Excellent French onion soup and dessert crepes. My wife also orders a salad there. Mmmm
Cheese Cake Factory - general family
Cafe Europa - grab a table in or outside. We mostly have desserts there.
Kilwin's - Ice Cream
Jackson's Steak House - upscale & excellent
There's a pata bar right across Jackson's. I forget the name. Select & they cook it right there. Similar to Stir Crazy (for those who know it). Unfortunately, drastic increase in price from the first few months they opened.
