Looking for after theatre restaurant

Hi, I am looking for a good after theatre restaurant/bar near the Shubert Theatre on 44th street or near the Gershwin Theatre on 50th st. I would like a place to go for a drink with a friend or dessert. We are going Sat June 17. Thanks!

I'm sorry, you were responding to a similar question.

But if you search for this common topic, you'll find tons of suggestions.

Near the Shubert go to Sardi's. Famous, fun caricatures on the wall and good enough for dessert and coffee. Another idea is the dessert buffet at the View Restaurant in the Marriott Marquis (at the corner). Great views, $15 dessert buffet. Make reservations at either.

Near the Gershwin, try Abboccato in the Blakely hotel

Oh, please, mclaurie, not Sardi's. The OP was for a "good after theater restaurant bar." And, "good restaurant" and Sardi's are not synonymous!
Now, if she wwants to go to a place that oozes the theater and have a drink, fine!

She's looking for a drink with a friend or dessert. I think Sardi's is great for that. Everyone will be talking theater. It's fun.

You're right, mclaurie! Forget my previous posting!
(PS: Did anyone notice OP's funny typo in her initial post....."go for a drink with a friend or dessert." Well, I guess the decision would depend on what the dessert is!)

I was taken to a meal at Sardi's a couple years ago. I wouldn't go eat there on a bet on my own dime. But I never miss it for a drink when in town. The bar at Thalia is very nice and practically next door to the Gershwin.
