lodging in san diego around Christmas

We are looking for small-child friendly lodgings in the San Diego area over the Christmas Holidays, when we will be visiting the traditional family-type venues like the zoo and SeaWorld. We would like to be at the beach or at least have water views and we definitely need kitchen facilities. Our first choice would be to rent a 4-bedroom house or condo, but suite-type hotel facilities would work as a second choice. Any suggetions for possibile properties or for local companies that could help us find the kind of accommodations we require?

My son and his wife and three children have always stayed at the Residence Inn during their trips to San Diego. I don't think they have ocean views, but they do have kitchens. There are several not far from Sea World. With small children, when do you think you're going to have time to gaze at the ocean out of your hotel window. When our kids were little, it would have been never.

Hotel Del Coronado has gorgeous villas on the beach for rental use and believe it is a one week min.
Very kid friendly and one of the prettiest place that is decorated for us locals to go and admire.
You need to book asap and it will be pricey but if you are looking at a 4bdr with ocean view, you are talking about a lot of $$ to begin with.

They are called the beach villages and here is the link and they have some deals..they are really nice.
Also, La Valencia has villas across from LJ cove that are stunning too.
