The above link refers to President Cleveland's opposition to annexation of Hawaii; quite a fascinating read, but very appalling in the end, where he insists that Hawaii basically forget and forgive. Maybe this is the wrong forum, but, respectfully, just thought a little history lesson was in order.

Thank You Kolohegirl for explaining the opposing point of view. If the people og Molokai would rather have 12.9% unployment than have tourists bring income to the community it is certainly their choice. But it is not fair to then use the benefits of American citizenship with unemplyment benefits and the like. The people who do want to work should not have to pay for those who prefer rural life. If the people can do that and not bleed the system, more power to them. Again, thanks for the insight.
