Live Theatre in New York
Hi Everybody:
One more question: What is the best source for finding out which musicals and plays are showing? Also, is there a good source for purchasing tickets? Maybe some 2-for-1 coupons???
This forum has been so informative. Thanks again.

Use broadwaybox.com to get tickets before you arrive - a better choice of seats and no standing on line for an hour at the TKTS booth. The site will list those shows discounting and you take the code and use it to purchase tickets at the shows official online seller - ticket master or whoever.

To capsulize the previous posts, there are two man sources of discount tickets. One is at a TKTS booth (see Rhea598's posting which explains that option. This option requires you to stand in line, sometimes for an hour or so, other times much less.
The other source (actually a couple websites) are broadwaybox.com and playbill.com, both of which offer a bunch of discounts. This option offers you the opportunity to get the tickets in advance and/or go directly to the box office when you get to the city.
