LAX hotels

Need a LAX hotel for an overnight in Los Angeles Airport (Saturday to Sunday). Tried Priceline, rejected up to $100 for 4* and 3*. At this point need to make a reservation at safe hotel with a shuttle service for a woman traveling solo.

I do not know the LAX area well, so I wonder if I should be looking at other areas.

Your recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This coming Saturday?

Hotwire has a 3.5* Customer Favorite for ~$83, probably the Hilton, Westin or Radisson.

I'd grab that one right now.

I've stayed in LAX hotels 3 different times and it is a very good area. I would take rkkwan's suggestion and grab that room.

Any of the hotels in El Segundo (right next door to LAX) are good. The Hilton Garden Inn is nice and in your budget.

Any of the 3-4 star hotels there are fine. The Quality Inn is usually inexpensive and pretty nice (I've stayed there). Most of them have free shuttles from the airport, so you may want to make sure yours does too. This weekend is Halloween, so maybe that's why it's pretty booked for the weekend. Be aware that there is nowhere you can walk around that area if you were planning on going anywhere at night. Alternatively, you can stay in Marina del Rey or Santa Monica, which are 10-20 mins away - about $20-25 cab each way. That way you can go out at night if you want to.

Manhattan Beach around the strand is also a good area to stay in close to the airport.

I agree that staying in El Segundo is a good idea. The HGI is $169, tho. The Doubletree and Hacienda are $119.

I've stayed at the Hilton, Marriott, Sheraton, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn. All of those at LAX And at the Hilton Garden Inn, Doubletree, and Hacienda in El Segundo. And a couple of places on the PCH in Manhattan Beach.

If I had a choice of all of those, at the same price, I would go back to the Hilton Garden Inn in E.S. or maybe the Doubletree.

Suggest avoiding the LAX Travelodge - stayed there overnight as a female traveling alone and I didn't feel safe. Make sure your hotel has interior doors. Have since stayed at the Mariott - much nicer, safer and worth the extra $$.

It feels great to be part of this board and having so many great people willing to help and be of support.

I took the Hotwire offer for $82 and I got the Hilton Lax.

Thanks to all of you.

epaulino - Would you mind posting on betterbidding.com to state what you get? Also point that "laundry" is back on the amenities list for the Hilton LAX, as it's not listed on the betterbidding list.

That will help future users to that website for Hotwire info.
