Last day on Kauai ... what would you do?

We will be visiting Kauai March 24 through April 5, 2007. Staying at Kuhio Shores. Our check-out day is April 5 (by 10:30 a.m.). Our flight from Honolulu to Vancouver doesn't leave until 9:00 p.m. My question is if we are not given an extension to our 10:30 a.m. check-out time (which I doubt we will be granted), should we stay as long as possible on Kauai anyway (catch a late afternoon Hawaiian Air to Oahu) or take an early morning flight from Kauai to Oahu? What would be worthwhile doing on Oahu for from say noon until 6:00 p.m.?

I'm imagining our suitcase(s) would be annoying for trying to have a day at a beach up by Lihue before catching a late afternoon flight out from Kauai?

Didn't really give much thought to our early morning condo check-out time and our Honolulu evening flight home to Vancouver and the large window of time in between when I booked our flights.

Any thoughts?

You may be able to leave your luggage at your condo and then you can spend the day playing on Kauai. I would check with the condo.

Thanks Kureiff .. now that sounds easy. I vote for that.

In fact I think I'll e-mail the condo lady right now and check it out.

We usually hang out on Poipu Beach all day (parking across street so you can watch your stuff) Then shower there at the beach showers, change in the restroom, go to dinner at Duke's, turn in the rental and the check-in.....and start planning for our return trip on the plane. Good luck, Harry

Thanks so much for all the options. I'm feeling better already.

Contacted our condo rental contact and she had no options for us ... no baggage storage at the condominium building and obviously by her e-mail tone, no chance of an extension to the 10:30 check-out time.

dcd - thanks for the link to the thread ... all good stuff.
