We drove up to Mt. Charleston -- wow!
The temp. was about 20 degrees cooler (in Sept) than in Vegas. You start out by driving through a barren desert area with lots of rocks and cactus, and end up with lush greenery, wild flowers, and fantastic views!! I think it only took us about 45 min. to one hour to get there.

Primm has the Outlet shops, a golf course (supposed to be pretty nice) and FUN roller coaster, and of course the stateline to California is there and that is where us locals buy lotto tickets (if your state does not have one like ours), other than that...that is Primm. beth48 mentioned Mt. Charleston, it IS very nice, very cold right now though but is a great getaway during the summer months. At the top is our local ski resort, no snow up there yet though. Other side trips well worth it are Valley of Fire about 1 hour drive away, and Zion about 3 hours one way. I highly recommend Zion if you have never been. What time of year are you going? Lake Havasu City is "ok" to see the London Bridge and visit nearby Oatman (western town) complete with donkeys and cowboys. You could also visit Red Rock Canyon and Bonnie Springs also complete with petting zoo and cowboys. Ages of people coming?

have u been to red rock... its beautiful. you can go hiking and horseback riding.
also someone already said it, but mt. charleston is fun. there is a lodge up there with a decent restraunt and there is sledding, skiing, and sleigh rides in the winter.
*nothing to do at primm but shop and even then there are better outlets in vegas.
