Las Vegas Hilton
Hi travelers,
I am in the process of planning a family trip to Las Vegas (my husband & 2 girls 6 & 9). We plan to 'see' vegas, and visit friends, see the dam, and possibly Lake Mead.
My question is has anyone stayed recently at the Las Vegas Hilton? Since I am an honors member, I was able to get 6 nights free in the month of April. I have been reading reports on the Hilton but many of them are so old I am sure things have changed.
We are looking for a clean hotel that has decent food and a nice pool. Any comments ? ?
Thanks in advance.

Now Hilton is a stop on the monorail, it means an easy connection to the strip in any weather. I would certainly go for it, especially that the price is right for you!
I've never heard anything negative about it except the off-strip location.

I just stayed at the Hilton two weeks ago for our Christmas party and it was as nice as always. I, for one, love the Barry Manilow music & stuff since I like him, so I guess it's a matter of personal taste. The pool is closed (and drained) right now - don't know when it will re-open, you might want to check with the hotel. They are in the midst of doing a lot of remodeling, you might want to check on that too, I'm not sure when that will be finished.
The poster that mentioned that the Hilton is one of the stops for the monorail brings up a good point - it makes getting around a lot more convenient and the Hilton stop is one of the few that you don't have to hike a long ways to get to, which makes it more convenient. Valet park your car and catch the monorail to go to the Strip.

I stayed at the Hilton about 5 weeks ago. The room was nice and I liked the access to the monorail. There is some construction on the main floor, but it didn't present any problems.
I didn't eat in the hotel.
Since I was staying there anyway, I visited the Star Trek Experience. It was OK, but not worth the high price.

We have stayed at the Las Vegas Hilton, and are pleased with the hotel. The rooms are decent, clean, and meet the typical Hilton standards.
The Star Trek Experience attraction is expensive, and would be worth it to a fan. You can visit some of the Star Trek themed areas, the gift shop, and the theme restaurant without going through the attraction.
The L.V. Hilton would be a good choice for your family, particularly if you can stay for free.

I've stayed at the Hilton many times and as others have said, it's a great place to stay! It's kind of a long walk to the parking garage, but then, that's the case with most hotels in Vegas. If you really want something on the Strip, maybe you can use your points at the Flamingo Hilton.
