Las Vegas Hilton

I'm thinking of staying at the Las Vegas Hilton for 3 nights in April - great rate (with husband and two kids). How far off the strip are they? I know they're somewhat near Circus Circus, Sahara, etc., but just to get to the strip, how far is it? I've been told different things. I'm hoping the monorail will be operating by then.

when you say "great rate" I hope you mean under $60 a night. otherwise you are paying to much for a remote hotel filled with convention goers. usually the Flamingo Hilton is cheaper and a better location as well as just as good a hotel. you aren't going to want to walk to places like Bellagio or the Venetian.

Problem is the monorail is $7 roundtrip. So $28 a day to get your family back and forth. Might get a comparable rate just staying on the strip.

Rates are pretty cheap at the Hilton Grand Vacation Club at the Flamingo. You will have a lot of extra room, plus can use the Flamingos pool area.

The Las Vegas Hilton is really in a bad location. It is a nice hotel, but with kids you be absolutely stranded. It is NOT very close to anything (including Circus Circus). I agree that the strip is much better even if you have to pay a little more. Most of the hotels are running good deals the first week of April if that helps. I just got a postcard from TI & Mirage for $65 a night during the week.
