Las Vegas: Complaint about Look Tours to the GC
We booked Look Tours for 4 people to the GC. They didn't pick us up at the spot where they said they would at the Luxor (another couple was also waiting so it wasn't miscommunication on my part). We called about 4 or 5 times wondering where they were. The company claimed we were in the wrong place. We weren't. That was the spot on the reservation. The hotel later told us that they've had some complaints about that very issue. Seems that Look refuses to pick up where all the other groups pick up.
When they finally picked us up we saw that my niece and her husband (who were at MGM Grand) weren't picked up either. The driver refused to go to the Grand (right across the way) and the company refused to send another bus for them. Finally we told them to cancel all our reservations without penalty (which they did-although I should check my credit card) and take the 2 of us back to the hotel.
The driver was rude, the company completely indifferent. It messed up our plans even though we ended up renting a car and doing it ourselves.
I will probably never book one of those tours again. From what I hear from old timers, the bus tours are at best, disorganized and at worst, a rippoff.
Has anyone had any negative experiences with any company? I will report them to the BBB, but just curious. Maybe we just had a surly driver.

One of my co-workers warned me before my first trip to Vegas not to make any advance bus tour reservations. I don't remember what company it was which did not pick him up, something starting with C, his reservation was refunded, still who needs all this hassle? That's why I recommended on this website reserve the tours through concierge of your hotel even if it's more expensive.

Several years ago, on our first trip to Las Vegas, we took a one day bus trip to the Grand Canyon. After returning back to the city from a very long, hot day (summer), there was a lot of traffic on LV Blvd. We were staying at the Luxor & the driver convinced us to get out, if I remember correctly, somewhere around the Frontier so he could get off the strip (I think we were the last drop.)! We didn't know any better, and complied, but what a walk that was - we must have stopped 4 or 5 times for water & were drenched when we got there.
Does anyone have a GOOD Las Vegas bus tour experience to share?

I have 2 excellent experiences to share, bus tour to Red Rock Canyon 1/2 day was very nice, don't remember the company name. But the 2nd to the Valley of Fire all day tour was done by a company with a funny name Annie Bananie. Both tours were great, both guides were not only knowledgeable, but with good sence of humor.

Leona - Message: We did Showtime tours to the South Rim -was a very good tour - informative guide - stop at Hoover Dam - lunch at Thelma and Max was good. Movies on bus. Pick up and drop off at hotel. If you look on line - they run many specials - two for one price for the Canyon tour- if you fly and need transportation to your hotel - they often offer free shuttle from the airport (arrival and departure to and from your hotel) included in your Canyon tour price. The bus was full - the guide took so much time with advice where to take best pictures etc - answered any and all questions - if did not have the answer - made sure to find out - again he was so informative. I booked on line - but paid for the tour at the Showtime tour window at the airport. It was July and hot - but the bus stopped at each hotel for pick-up and drop off. They informed us this added on about an hour to your trip depending on where your hotel was. I would recommend this tour company.
