Las Vegas Cay Club?

I am thinking about booking this property for a four day stay right before Thanksgiving. It is located at 4200 S Valley View Blvd and is supposed to be within walking distance of the Strip, an important consideration for me.

Any opinions/ experiences would be much appreciated.

Hi Butasan505,

I posted a thread asking about the Cay Club in LV about a month ago and didn't get any respones. My daughter has it booked for New Years Eve (two nights).

I'm headed to LV for a business trip (just the day) this Saturday. If I get an extra hour or so, I plan on stopping by the property. I'll give you an update when I return.

In the meantime, here's to bumping this thread in case someone else has any input.

I believe this (new)joint is beyond the Rio. You won't be walking to much from there, hiking maybe, not walking.

It is across from the Rio near The Palms. One could also use the free Gold Coast shuttle to get to the strip. I believe it is a 20 to 30 minutes walk to the Las Vegas Blvd. at Flamingo. BUT, on NYE when the entire strip is closed to auto traffic it just may be a great place to be (aside from paying only $125 for a one bedroom condo ON NYE). Walking from hotel to hotel on the strip can be quite a hike. Besides, my daughter is 23 years young and will have no problem with the walk. If it were for me...I'd give it a second thought. But then again, I'm not crazy enough to want to spend NYE in Las Vegas!

looks like the OP is looking to stay there before Thanksgiving. If it's the week before, you can probably find cheap enough rates for places on the strip. no reason to stay so far away from it. you can technically walk, but you won't want to be doing this 30 minute walk often, considering the time it takes just to walk up and down the strip! the best area to stay on the strip is probably around Flamingo because it's right around the middle. check out Bill's. It's a very nice place and very convenient. often cheaper rates. also, check specials on various hotel sites. if you're going during the week, it will be cheaper. be aware that nov 12 is a holiday.

Lots of reviews for this place on TripAdvisor - you might want to take a look there if you haven't already.

Thaks to all who responded. I have decided to pass on this place. I did read the reviews at TripAdvisor but wanted the opinion of Fodorites.

For anyone else considering this property...I had an opportunity to stop by here yesterday. They were 100% occupied but showed me a room of a late arrival. VERY nice room. Complete two bedroom/two bath...rooms separated by a living room, dining area and kitchen. Spotlessly clean. That part all good...but the location is a hike to the strip. One could walk to the Rio or the Gold Coast for a shuttle.

This is inconvenient for those wishing strip activity. However, it will be perfect for my daughter and her friend as they are young and can handle the long walk. And, they have other activities planned away from the strip with the exception of NYE. They would not be staying here if not for the fact that they got a one bedroom on the 30th and 31st of December for $123.00 a night.
