Las Vegas - Best Steakhouse
I've got a trip coming up with some buddies and want a great, not good, steak. I'm thinking along the lines of Del Friscos, Capitol Grille or Mortons...not SW, Delmonicos or the other fu fu places.
Are there any local steak joints that are along the lines of the chains I mentioned above: upper scale but still meat and potatos?

Here's our favorite - we never miss it for entertaining our most important customers. If you like a cozy, Old Vegas, Rat-Pack, dim and intimate atmosphere, it's worth the cab ride downtown. Head to the Four Queens Hotel (yes, really) and go downstairs to Hugo's Cellar. We were told about it by locals many years ago and it's consistently outstanding. Just Google it. The "extras" they throw in are incredible!

Just went to Capitol Grille in LV last week while there for a convention. I have eaten at Capitol Grille in other cities and there food is consistently good. I had a very good filet mignon at the LV location. However, the service was terrible. Couldn't believe how long we waited for our meal and the restaurant wasn't that busy. Morton's would be a better choice.

A lot of people I know swear by the steakhouse at Circus Circus... it has the definite disadvantage that you have to go through one of the most garish hotels in Vegas, but for what I hear the steaks are unbeatable...
I've just checked Zagat's

Hi!
We absolutely love The Steakhouse at Camelot located on the second floor of the Excalibur Hotel & Casino.
Starting with the hostess seating you, the excellent treatment by the server, watching the chefs behind the glass wall, listening to the live pianist, and the eating the especially delicious and tender Filet Mignon and Lobster, you just can' t go wrong here.
We enjoy having their seafood appetizer consisting of oysters on the half shell, lobster halves, shrimp, mussels, and clams, as well as their escargot appetizer.
If it sounds too fancy, try Top o' the Stratosphere restaurant. They serve an excellent filet too but skip the lobster bisque, (just awful!), and they are pretty high priced although the view is wonderful.
And last but not least, you can always go to Lawry' s.
