LAS to YVR

I am a little confused by the Las Vegas Airport, we are taking America West due to arrival time and cost. I've been checking out the las vegas airport and it looks like some planes from YVR (Vancouver, Canada) pull up to Terminal 1 or D (America West & Alaskan) but Air Canada, West Jet, and Harmony pull into Terminal 2. Has anyone taken America West to LAS? Does it pull into T1? or does it pull into T2? if T2 it looks like we have to do customs there, then get our luggage, and take a shuttle to the main airport to check in to the hotel?

Reversely, when leaving there is no mention of an America west check in booth at T2, only T1, so are we required to go to T1 check in, then take the tram back to T2? Or do all America west air planes leave from T1. Sorry if this seems simple, But I've flown through YVR, YYJ, SEA, and CHI and this appears to more confusing than them... Hopefully some one out there has done this route with this airline before me and can answer this.

Cheers,
S

You go through US immigration and customs in YVR when flying to the US. The flight then arrives in the US airport as a domestic flight.

America West uses the B gates at Terminal 1. The Canadian airlines use Terminal 2. Those have nothing to do with immigration or anything.

Here is the web page for Las Vegas airport...

http://www.mccarran.com/

America West uses the main terminal while many charters and overseas airlines uses the smaller terminal 2. Terminal 2 is reached from the main terminal by a shuttle BUS, not the monorail.

View the website. THe shuttle bus probably leaves from the sub level, or lowest level, the same level that the shuttle bus for the outdoor parking lot uses.

If you have enough time for flights this will be very easy for you. There are check in counters in terminal 2 for the airlines there.

SOrry, I did not understand your question.

Listen to Kwan.

You can view the gates and terminal used for your flights from the wdbsite I posted for you.
