LAke Mead Kayaking
My 56 year old husband and I will be in Las Vegas mid October. We are thinking about renting a kayak and going on a 1/2 day guided tour on Lake Mead? Is this a good use of time? Is the water still warm in October? We are also planning a trip to the Valley of Fire one day. We are not gamblers and husband has a conference while there as well.

You might consider kayaking Black Canyon on the Colorado River just below Hoover Dam. This is a very scenic area with a good chance of spotting bighorns and a lot more interesting than Lake Mead itself.

If you need warm water though, stick to Lake Mead. The water in Black Canyon is always cold even in mid-summer.

there are several. Ask the concierge or google tix4less. I think there is one at the Hawaiian marketplace on center Strip and one on the corner of Flamingo road and the strip (that's where I got mine). I think it is called something.... Bill's. I got 30% off tickets to see Mystere that night. I would have loved to have seen Phantom or Jersey Boys, again. I also wanted to see Love, another cirque de soleil show.
