Laguna Beach
Hi there:
My husband and I will be in the San Diego area during the beginning of June.
We are hoping to stay in Laguna Beach for two days, and am wondering if anyone out there has recently stayed there and/or can shed some light on where to stay.
The bigger resorts (Montage, etc.) are all booked, so I am looking for any suggestions. It seems like many of the smaller places in Laguna get really mixed reviews and are on the negative side.
I was thinking of booking at the Manzanita Cottages; however, there is no a/c and I read on tripadvisor posts that the cottages are a bit smelly/old. Has anyone stayed there?
I also read that By The Sea Inn was recently renovated--anyone been there??
Thank you all in advance for your help!!

My husband and I checked out the Surf and Sand and loved it! Pretty hotel...not too big...but right on the water.
One of my favorite beaches in Laguna is called Tablerock. It is in South Laguna area. If you googlemap search the street in Laguna you'll find it. Very easy to miss but a beautiful and not well known beach!!

Not being the wealthiest person alive, when I visit Laguna Beach each year I always stay at The Laguna Riviera. It is not the Ritz, but it is moderately-priced and is in a great location.
I've read some some people's reviews complaining about service or something, but honestly I have never had a problem here, and the front-desk help has always been helpful and friendly.

Hi:
2 years ago we stayed at the Casa Laguna Inn and it was wonderful. It is across the highway from the ocean, but a quick walk down to the beach. We had to drive into Laguna Proper. The room was nice, clean and the owners were great. Breakfast was good and there was a substantial happy hour each afternoon. I would stay there again.
