la vegas: tram from Bellagio to Monte Carlo

Does anyone know if this tram is operational currently? We were at the Bellagio last year and it was not running. It may have been a temporary problem. Thanks.

I heard the end of January. $3.00 a ride. Is this the same tram that will run the length of the strip you are speaking of?

According to this news article the monorail from the Convention Center to MGM will not open till March 1st:

There is a great map and description of the 3 different monorails here:

It's my understanding that the tram between the Bellagio and Monte Carlo will be closed until the contruction of the new Bellagio Tower is completed, some time next year.

Just for what it's worth, although I've ridden most of the trams in Las Vegas, I've pretty much given them up. For the most part they don't really go all that far. And by the time you walk a mile through the entire property to get to one, wait in line for it, then walk all the way through the next property, I'd just as soon walk right down the strip from Casino to Casino, mostly which are right out front near the street. I think in the long run, half the time it isn't any more walking.

Frank, you are probably right. I was told the end of this month by the front desk at Bally's ONLY for the Sahara-MGM. In re-reading the original post, it was specific between Bellagio and Monte Carlo. I do see the reports are "indefinite".

Maybe it was just a mistake, so here is my reply to Patrick.

This new monorail will run from the Hilton located next to the Convention Center all the way to MGM. I do agree with you on the short runs, although the Bellagio-Monte Carlo tram was just the thing for us few months ago, when at that time it looked like a looooooonnnng walk, if you get my drift
