It will take about 1 hour and 15 mins by train and cost around $11. I assume you are talking about Princeton NJ.

You can also take Amtrak, which would be more expensive ($38 not including discounted fares) but a bit faster (40 minutes) and would not require any changes. (The NJ Transit train will require at least one change). Take a look at Amtrak.com
Amtrak goes from Princeton Junction, which is a few miles outside of downtown Princeton. If you take NJ Transit from downtown Princeton, your first stop is Princeton Junction where you will have to change trains. Depending on where you will be staying, Princeton Junction may be a more convenient departure station than downtown Princeton.

You might look into taking a bus. When I lived in that area I would take an express bus from the Kendall Park shopping center. It went more frequently, took a shorter time and was cheaper than the train. Check out njtransit.com
