Kula Lodge

Has anyone eaten at the Kula Lodge on Maui? How close is it to the summit of Haleakala? Is it a "dressy" atmosphere or does the typical island attire fit the bill here? I hear that the view is spectacular. I was thinking of maybe stopping on the way down from the sunrise up there for Breakfast or lunch (whatever they are serving when we get there). Any suggestions?

bebalm, Kula is a great place for lunch on the way out of Haleakala.

That's exactly what we did after taking in sunrise & doing a couple hours of hiking in the crater. It's casual. We were in shorts & tee shirts, dusty from our hike.

Bebalm, many people, including me, consider Kula Lodge a great place for breakfast, after the sunrise at Haleakala. You can be absolutely casual, and the food is delicious. We had eggs benedict and pancakes ... yum!

thanks for the reply. We are going with a group of people and i really wanted to have an itenerary set up for that day. I think we will head up for sunrise, hike a bit and head down for breakfast or lunch depending on what time it is. Thanks!!
