Kona Traffic
Yes, I know it's there, have been stuck in it, but I can't remember if there is a rush-hour type pattern to it.
Do people tend to drive into Kona in the morning and away in the afternoon Monday thru Friday, or is it just plan crowded during daylight hours? We arrive this Saturday afternoon and are heading to Volcano via the southern road.
We are staying in Puako in a condo, a new experience for us, I'll let everyone know what it is like.

I was there first week of June and can honestly say I did not see too much traffic except for an area with some construction and even then it was not horrible, I am sure on Saturday, should be lighter, have a great time.

We found the area near Kailua-Kona to be a little more crowded during the typical rush-hour times, but never stop-and-go. Just FYI, if you're driving north at all, we hit bumper-to-bumper traffic near Waimea just as school was starting up in the a.m. Buses and cars stop to make the left into the school, and it backs up the one-lane road for awhile.
