KEY WEST HELP!!!!!!!
We are going to Key West in September. Had already settled on the Hyatt Key West Resort and Marina, but I started looking at all the B&B's and have gotten myself so confused on which to stay in. The four that I am looking at are Paradise Inn, Fleur De Key, Nassau House and the Banyan Resort. Has anyone stayed at any of these and if so could you please give me some help? The more I look at everything that is available, the more confused I get. Thanks in advance for any help that you can give me.

The Banyan Resort looks wonderful from the outside and its location is great, too. But I've heard mixed reviews about the timeshares...some people have said their accommodations were a little shabby. In my opinion, the location of Paradise Inn isn't as good as the others. It's only a couple of blocks from Truman Avenue, which is busy and can be noisy. Fleur De Key is gay-exclusive, which may or may not be what you're looking for. I'm not at all familiar with Nassau House, even after checking out their website, so I can't give you any information on it. All in all, I'd say your first choice of the Hyatt is the best of this group.

Yes, the Hyatt is nice. But, a B&B will give you the true flavor of Key West. I recommend the Marquesa or the Gardens. Both are lovely and romantic if that is what you are looking for. You can also do a text search above on Key West and you will find loads of information.

We've stayed at Paradise Inn and didn't notice any noise at all. Rooms were quite nice. Our favorite place is Island City House, although it certainly is less fancy (and cheaper) than Marquesa or the Gardens Hotel. The Banyan does look nice, but I too have heard some of the rooms need some renovating. Heron House also gets good mention, and I like the looks of Simonton Court, although we haven't stayed there.

Stayed in room #4 at LaPensione on Truman last May. www.lapensione.org
It was great! The price was reasonable and the owners extremely helpful and friendly. Their breakfast was also fantastic... homemade blueberry waffles and fresh bread and fruit every morning. The location was ok too. A walk to Mallory Square, but peaceful and quiet as well.
