Kauai - Poipu Kai condos

We will be staying in the Sands section, building #3. Could someone tell me if that is walking distance to Poipu Beach State Park?
I know we will be close to the Hyatt beach, which from what I hear is unswimmable but should be nice for walking and exploring. But I also want to know if we will be able to walk over to the other end of the Poipu Kai complex and how long of a walk it is. Thanks.

Yes, you can walk there, on a nice paved pathway that winds through the entire complex. But it would probably take ten or fifteen minutes (it's about 1/2 mile), so if you're carrying a lot of stuff you'll want to drive closer.

Thanks, Warren, for the detailed info. I couldn't find maps detailed enough or true to scale so it was hard to judge the distance.

Hi lza hoping you would open this up again. I saw an article this morning (Sunday Paper)in The Honolulu Starbulletin thought you might want to take a look at it. You can get daily emails from them and I often find new info about something to do.

This article was from the Sunday Travel section. It talks about pulbic gardens in Hawaii mentioning Alerton and Limahuli both of which are on Kauai. So you might want to take a look. Good to do a photo search (google or yahoo)on these gardens I have never been and I did not know what I was missing until I did a photo search.

Thanks, Sarah. I actually saw a TV program a while ago about one of those gardens, so it is something I am keeping at the back of my mind for when we are sick of the beach (not very likely!).

Thanks for the link.

Sarah, I actually saw those pics a while ago while reading this guy's trip report. Look him up: the name is Ken Klein, goes by Lord Balfor; writes great pieces on Kauai and South Pacific.
