Kauai or Maui?

Have been to Oahu and to Maui for 4 days each but wondering if Kauai would be as enjoyable as Maui was. Obviously we didn't experience all of Maui in just four days. We loved Maui but torn now about seeing a different Island. Is Kauai really that much more beautiful than Maui? I would appreciate input on this. Thanks.

Kauai! Maui is too much like Oahu in my opinion. While I prefer the Big Island, Kauai is a very close second (IMHO).

If you are a nature lover and/or outdoor enthusiast definitely go to Kauai!

I loved Maui, but after a trip to Kauai, I cannot get the DH to go back to Maui. We are going to go to the Big Island for a couple of days tho.
But, I think what the die hard Kauai nuts need to start doing is telling everyone to go to Maui...
That way, maybe we can have Kauai to ourselves for a bit longer!!!
All in all, depends on what you want to do. All of the Hawaiian Islands are grand. Why not go to Lanai?

I think northern Kauai and Waimea canyon are very scenic and worth seeing, however the number of possible activities and number of people are both lower on Kauai vs Maui.

I think the company we used out of Port Allen has changed title, it was the only one that offered a "ecofriendly" boat that ran on vegetable oil, and on a trip prior to ours, they had photo's of how a whale had breached and landed on the back of the boat!

Last spring we tried the blue bible's suggestion: "Napali catamaran" out of Hanalei Bay, unfortunately it was too rough for my wife to make the transfer from the outrigger canoe that they use to take you to the powerboat, so I can only comment on the one from Port Allen, which basically spent more time than we would like trying to reach the stunning Napali coast. During this trip in Feb. 2002 we saw our first whale breach out of the water.
