I am getting married in Kauai on July 23 and having a reception in Houston on August 13. I was thinking that a cute wedding favor for the reception might be some Kauai Kookies. On the website, they have 1.5 oz packages of Macadamia Tea Cookies. Has anyone tried these cookies?

I plan to try them myself when we are in Kauai but I need to decide on another wedding favor asap if these cookies aren't that good. Can any of the very knowledgeable Kauai experts on this site help me out?

Their cookies are definitely popular -- they are the "dry crispy" style, rather than "moist chewy" style.

I'm not really a "cookie" person but the hotel includes a few boxes of Kauai Cookies in their welcoming gift baskets and I usually have to arm wrestle the lovely, yet suprisingly strong when it comes to cookies, Mrs Kal for a box.

hi mercedes..congratulations on your upcoming wedding day.. I love "hawaii-style" cookies. When you are actually on the kauai, i must recommend PoPo's cookies. They are soo delicious and have no hydrogenated oils in them. Kauai Kookies sure do taste good, too..but have the hydrogenated stuff in 'em. This might make them a better choice for shipping to Texas, though plus i think you'd need to phone in the Popo's order as she is not online yet. Don't forget to try the Popo's when you are there, though. It's a smaller, real local operation. Both companies have varietes with "crispies" in them, which i think is fun and delicious.
