42ND STREET MUSICAL

Does anyone know how I can find out when this musical is returning to New York? I will be there October 6-9 with granddaughter and would love to purchase tickets tothis event. Any other suggestions for musical for non-English speaking 12 year old?

Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, Lion King or Beauty and the Beast. All stories you could explain to her easily ahead of time. My first choice would be Lion King as the story, music, costumes and dance are universal. I bet she already knows this story.

Unfortunately the musical "42nd Street" closed and won't be returning. TC's suggestions are good ones -- "The Lion King" is your best bet.

Thanks so much for quick reply. What a disappointment that 42nd St. will not be returning - heard it was spectacular. Thanks for the suggestions. Will definitely try and find tickets for Lion King.

Broadway Box lists discount tickets for both Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Beauty and the Beast. I'm afraid no discounts for The Lion King -- but it would still be my first choice.

Actually, I'm sure 42nd Street WILL be returning, it's just a question of when. Revivals of big musicals are big business. The most recent revival ran several years and was very successful. I'd give it another 5 to 10 years, and I'm sure another production will surface on Broadway.
