thanks... but it's still a mystery to me. i guess i'm not the only one that can't decide on a pronunciation for Kauai. I like to think it has something to do with the japanese alphabet. if so, Ka-Wa-Yee. or Ka-Wa-i, like Ha-Wa-i.
