Kauai CONDO/VILLA help

My wife and I are looking to take a delayed honeymoon in Kauai - we really want a nice, romantic condo, villa or cottage near the ocean (preferably in Poipu, but willing to hear other suggestions). She doesn't want to stay at Gloria's Sprouting Horn - any other suggestions?

In Sept stayed in Poipu near where Gloria's is. Actually Gloria's was down the road more toward spouting horn but I digress. We wanted a place that was very nice and private. We stayed at Whalers Cove, building 1 second floor. Huge lanai with access from both living room and master bedroom. The ocean was within reach. Pictures from our lanai look like postcards especially at sunset. Condo was very nice inside. Grounds are nice. Pool is rimless so it looks like it's part of the pool decking. Has a nice in ground jacuzzi. Only 36 or so units. Many of them privately owned. Wasn't busy at all. BBQs available and steps down to the water for snorkeling. No beach but the pool is so close to the ocean it's like you're in it. We had a great time. Wish we could have stayed longer. Very romantic and very private. We went through Suite paradis because we got a better price. Asked for building 1 second floor and they were very accomodating. Best part is the location, very near Beach House restaurant (not within walking distance though).

Try http://hanalei-house.com, we will be staying in the house in January, but the cottage might be of interest to you.

We just returned from staying at Poipu Shores and we loved! If you don't like the sound of the ocean it is not for you! We had a 3 bedroom on the 3rd floor which had a magnificent view. The whole building sits right on the water. This is not the fanciest place as each condo is individually owned but the grounds are nice, the BBQ area well kept, and a pool overlooking the ocean. To help determine where you want to stay, take a look at wizardpub.com as they show great areial views of each property.
