Hawaii -- Kauai Beach Villas condos?

Just curious...has anyone stayed in the Kauai Beach Villas condos (located next to the Radisson Kauai)? Thoughts, impressions, opinions?

We stayed at the Beach Villas when we moved to Kauai and were waiting for our household shipment. Spacious, well equipped. Not all the unuts have a view, however, so double check that you have a good location. Very isolated property, no shopping or dining within walking distance except for the Radisson lobby area. Very dangerous beach for swimming. And the left turn from the property entrance to the highway is hair raising, LOL.

I stayed there last year for a week and enjoyed my visit. Condos were clean, comfortable, and nicely appointed, although not high end luxurious. If you can ask for an ocean view unit, do so. Also, none of the condo buildings has an elevator, that I am aware of. The grounds are nice and use of the pool at the Radisson was a plus because the villas' pool is quite small. My unit was a ground floor unit and a quick walk to the Radissson pool. As Vivi says, no stores within walking distance but you are only about 10 minutes or so from Kapaa and Lihue, so that shouldn't matter much. This is a good location to travel to both the North and South shores, kinda in between both shores. If you are looking for a nice, quiet, clean place that is reasonably priced, you cannot go wrong.

Stayed there in March of 2000 and enjoyed it very much. As the others mentioned, the beach there is NOT safe for swimming (way too rough and with bad undertows), but the beach in the area is generally empty and you can walk for a lonnnnnnng way north of there along the ocean side of the nearby golf course.

At the time, we were able to use the facilities (very nice pool etc) of the next-door Radisson Kauai Beach Resort. Don't know if that's still true or not - though I suspect it is.

We were in building G (see http://www.wizardpub.com/kauai/krkauaibchvillas.html for an aerial view) and liked it very much. The unit was very large, bright and airy - though there was some unsightly rust damage around the doors and windows (not too unusual with a beachfront unit).

We would stay there again.

We stayed here Feb 8th-15th 2004. I thought it was a great place. The location was perfect because you can access the n shore as easily as the s shore. We were in building D. It had a view of the pool, but mostly palm trees. They had a washer/dryer which we did use. It wasn't luxurious by any means, but it was a very nice place. I would definately return. Of course it depends on what price you're going to pay.
