Joe the cop

Does anyone have contact information for the touring service in New York City called Joe the Cop?

I do. If you would like to email me at my screen name at live dot com, I would be happy to get you his info. I do not know of a website, and I am nervous about putting an email / phone number on a forum that I know goes straight to an individual.

I have used this service twice and it is a very reliable service.

Yep, that's the email. Just didn't want to open him up to the spambots.

Just curious--why in 2013 wouldn't someone have a website with at least basic contact information if you are running a business and hoping to attract clients?

Perhaps he gets enough business by word of mouth so he does not need to attract other clients that he will just have to say no to. Saying no to too many clients can kill a business.

Curious? Is he an officer? Retired? DH is an officer and might enjoy this kind of tour. Can anyone provide details?

Nyer, when I was a consultant, I didn't even have business cards. What I did was unique enough that I didn't want to take the time to explain it. I had all the business I wanted and the nome just through referrals and from people who participated in something I did.

Not bragging, just explaining why someone might not advertise or make his business easy to find.

He is a retired officer who has a small fleet of several off duty officers who also work for him. He caters to a very upscale audience or a clientele who may not necessarily wish to be easily identified (politicians, celebrities, etc) and therefore only uses word of mouth. He also offers his services for the everyday NY tourist. I would not describe his service as a touring service, but more of a very upscale car service. When I have used him (three times now--I was traveling with someone else who desired this service for professional reasons) he has been reliable, punctual even at odd hours for our extremely early and late flights, and he did go beyond a taxi service by providing security, also waiting for us while we shopped or visited attractions, coming back for us after a show instead of us having to find a cab, and definitely told us all about the city at all points in between. The whole service was delightful and we felt unbelievably safe. Perhaps this clears up a little more about Joe the Cop, who is most definitely a real service which I highly recommend should you want the utmost in reliability and especially security while in the city.

And as long as you're willing to pay for it.

Yes, as long as you are willing to pay for it. Just like anything else, right?

But we paid just as much to use Uber for our car service this past week. So it's not like it's unthinkable.
