Jacksonville Beach
I recently returned from a week in Jax. I was on the beach several times. It was great, water temp 84! In early October would the beach temps be as warm? When does it begin to cool? I would like to return then, for a week or would be to cold? Thanks.

If you like that particular area, I would either venture to Amelia Island or St. Augustine rather than Jax Beach. I have been down there in January & been able to get into the water but that is not the norm. At the very minimum, you should be good until the end of October. Keeping in mind, I abhor bathwater type temps, warm for me may not suit your needs/wants.

Agree with SAnParis regarding Amelia Island or St. Augustine rather than Jax Beach. My preference would be St. Augustine. If you've read any of my previous posts, you'll see that I am partial to St. Augustine, particularly Crescent Beach 10-15 minutes south of the historic area.
During the first 2-3 weeks of October, the water temps will still be in the low 80's. IMO, October is the absolute best time of the year to come because the beaches are so uncrowded, the daytime air temps fall below 90, and lodging prices are lower too.
