Interesting comment above re: service at Kaiyo. We were there 1/10 (a Friday) and 1/13, and the service was prompt, friendly, and helpful both times.

There is nothing wrong with Marker 88 Restaurant, its great. Lorele's Restaurant & Cabanna Bar is the best dinning in Islamorada. Sit outside for sunset & get in the mood for a very romantic evening, better than Cafe Des Artiste's in Key West. I agree with Morado Bay & Pierre's, which is kinda old mansion, all bayside places.

Don't forget Manny & Isa's Kitchen for the best key lime pie in the keys. Also, visit the Worldwide Sportman's store just up from Morado Bay which is owned by The Moorings. Visit the Zang Grey Bar upstairs for a relaxing drink & some very nice entertainment.

I like the buffet at the Whale Harbor Inn. All you can eat crab legs, shrimp, pasta, dessert... What's not to like?

I would also recommend the Lorelei. They sometimes have live music, and you can sit outside on the dock if you like.

Whale Harbor buffet- yuk. Sure there are plenty of choices and sure it's all you can eat but the quality of the food just isn't that great. If you are a seafood lover you would be much better off taking the cash you would have spentat the WH buffet and getting a good seafood dinner at one of the other excellent restaurants mentioned above (Pierre's, Morada Bay, MM 88, Lorelei, etc). Of course if you can't tell the difference between fresh, well prepared seafood and poor quality stuff, and you want to eat until you burst, then I guess the WH buffet will be fine for you.........

I agree with Larry regarding the Whale Harbor. We made the mistake of eating their once and it was awful, food was cold and tasted like it was Red Lobster leftovers. And, it is not cheap. The Coral Grill used to have a better buffet but they closed. Take the money and go somewhere else...
