Info re: Tilghman Island, MD accommodations

Does anyone know anything about Knapp's Narrows Marina and Inn in Tilghman? It's pretty new and on the water with reasonable rates, according to it's website. Any other suggestions for the town? We'll be going in early Oct. Thanks.

The Inn looks nice and Tilghman island is a very small town just past St Michaels MD. St Michaels (as you probably know) is a very trendy place.

Other restaurants in Tilghman are The Bridge and Harrisons which is an older restaurant started by one by eastern shore's own Buddy Harrison. There's much political pics and news around the interior and the seafood has always been pretty tasty.

a former neighbor used to keep his boat at that marina. when his wife was with them, they'd stay in the inn as opposed to on the boat and he seemed pleased with it. across the narrows is the bridge restaurant which is nice.

tilghman island inn is more upscale in prices--i've only seen the exterior from the water and wasn't terribly impressed but the inside might be very nice. they are known to have good food.

my husband has spent a couple nights at harrison's when he has chartered fishing boats with some buddies--you get a package deal. it is very basic. though not at all upscale, they do have a great oyster buffet on friday nights in winter. they may have it in october. i think it is the best offering in the area--for about $25, all you can eat, they serve oysters every which way.

there are also a couple b&bs. lazy jack inn looks cute from the outside.

tilghman island is very local, a lot of watermen, very laid back. there isn't a whole lot going on for visitors. a skipjack sails out of dogwood harbor and a place rents kayaks.

tilghman island day is in october so if you are there for that event there will be a lot going on.

Tilghman Island is much different from touristy St. Michael's twenty miles west. It is a genuine waterman's town. Harrison's offers a very good crab cake suppers served family style with at least two veggies and some sort of potato.

Thanks, everyone. We are driving from Boston (ultimately headed to FL) and will get there about 5PM. Will 2 nts/1day be enough time for the area? We would like to poke around St. Michaels and maybe go out on a skipjack.
