Hi,
I live very near here. Not too far away in Uniontown, PA (at the base of Summit mountain) are some chain hotels. It would then be about a 20-25 minute drive to your destination. There is a Holiday Inn, Hampton Inn, and Super 8 in Uniontown all on Route 40 which is the route you would take up the mountain to these places. In addition, there is a Fairfield Inn very close by. Even closer on Route 40 in a little Village called Hopwood (cut off about 5-8 minutes drive from the Uniontown trip). There are a couple little sleepy motel (I can't vouch for the rooms) there called Blue Mountain Motel and Hopwood Motel. Then, in Chalk Hill, much, much closer is the Lodge at Chalk Hill and another called Chalk Hill Motel. If you want a quaint experience, but this is about 10 minutes West of Uniontown is a nice bed and breakfast called Watson's Choice. I am sure there are B&B's on the mountain, I just don't know the names. For more info, call Uniontown/Fayette Chamber of Commerce (724) 437-4571. If you tell me exactly what you are looking for in restaurants, I can help with that, also. Near the chain restaurants I mentioned above in Uniontown are lots of chain-type restaurants available--Bob Evans, Denny's, Eat & Park, Red Lobster, Ruby Tuesday's, Ponderosa, some fast food, and the Uniontown Mall is right there as well with the Boston Beanery and Garfield's ( both pub food/atmosphere). Let me know if I can be of further help.

In giving you the restaurants, I said near the chain "restaurants" I mentioned above, I meant near the chain "hotels". The restaurant chain names are given for your info, but if you are looking for something more special, please let me know.

It also must be mentioned that even if you are not staying there, you must at least visit the famous 4* (many patrons feel 5*) Nemacolin Woodlands resort. It will be just minutes from the sites you are visiting right on Route 40. The resort is owned by 84 Lumber founder Joe Hardy (who by the way has spent a rumored $5-9 million of his own money this summer to help refurbish and revitalize downtown Uniontown of which I spoke about earlier--he was recently elected county commissioner at the ripe age of 80) and there have been no touches left undone. Here is the website http://www.nemacolin.com/default.htm
If nothing else, drive through the property, park and walk the grounds and through the magnificent Chateau. If you do not want to spend a lot on dinner, there is an ice cream shop, a bakery or the CaddyShack restaurant on the golf course where you can have a casual dinner or lunch.
