Independence Air
Has anyone flown with them before? I"m booking a ticket to Nashville and I think i'll try these guys out since I've heard such good things about their service. Plus it's cheap! Apparently their iClub is really good too, but works in a different way.
Anyways, haven't had many of my friends fly with this airline, but if you guys have, let me know if it's good to book with. Thanks!

I just booked a flight for my wife and myself from NYC to DC on Independence. The price was excellent and the service was great. I have several friends who have flown with them and they've highly recommended them, likening them to jetBlue and Song. I'm flying next week, so I'll let you know how it goes.

I don't know how people can say Independence is like Jetblue or Song. Independence flies mostly 50-seat regional jets (with some Airbus on order for longer routes), while Jetblue flies Airbus A320, and Song mostly even larger 757. Jetblue has video screens on all seats, with live TV broadcast; and some Song has the same. Nothing like that at all with Independence.
Not saying it's not a good airline, but it's very different from Jetblue or Song, or Southwest for that matter.
One nice thing is that their planes are very empty. While other airlines are filling up 80% of their seats, Independence's load is only in the 50's.

My main problem with I Air is that they are notorious for cancelling their NY-DC shuttle if it isn't full and combining it with the next one. However, I doubt that will be a problem going to Nashville. It isn't luxurious, but the prices are great and the service is friendly, and they have fantastic sale fares.

I love Independence Air -- have flown them about 5 times now on various routes. Great service and great snacks!!!
On a flight from Dulles to Atlanta, we got rerouted to Knoxville to wait out the hurricane in Atlanta. The staff maintained really positive spirits and were incredibly nice during the 4 hour delay. They let us off the plane at Knoxville, then borke out sodas, chips, cookies and other snacks at the gate to keep us entertained and fed. I've never had that happen on any other airline!
