Inaccuracies in Fodor's Destinations webpages

Does anyone check their local - or well traveled - city information on this website?

I took a look at the restaurant suggestions on the Destination tab and found two restaurants that are no longer open anymore. One was noted by a user comment as "closed for at least a year" in 2006. It's now been at least 2 years - and almost that long for the other I know has closed.

Similar for your city? Makes me wonder how often the editors check for accuracy - OR input new information. I understand if there were just print guides than the info would only be checked for the newest update - but I wonder why the website info is falling so far behind the times.

I checked Seattle restaurants on the Frommer web site and found the same problems. Following the description of a defunct sports bar, I found this statement: Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Please be sure to confirm all rates and details directly with the companies in question before planning your trip.

:-?
That makes sense when considering information in printed guides that only go to reprint every few years. But, on a website?

I'm very much surprised.

I agree, and when I re-checked I see that the disclaimer on the Frommer site was for a restaurant that is still very much in business across from the Space Needle (I had it confused with another place).
