You're right, it was Hot and Now. Thanks for the correction.

Jocelyn: Rubio's!! Rubio's!! I LOVE that place! They put one in Belmont Shore by my house, and now all is right with my world. Fish tacos, fish burritos and sinus-clearing escabeche (pickled jalapeños with carrots and onions)! AND it's down the street from an In-n-Out!!! *burp*

rjw, have you tried the carne asada street tacos yet? Between my husband and I we go through 4-5 orders at a time!

I'm not a fan of hamburgers but friends and my "kids" will drive past McDonalds, Tommy's, and Fat Burgers to In -and- Out. There is an In & Out near our house and I will see cars backed up at 11 PM so it must be good :-B.

rjw,
Why wait? Since you're in your car driving somewhere, and have only one mouth, you're stuck with either eating the burger first or the fries first. Unless you have someone to hold the cell phone while your eating, in which case, you might be able to eat both at the same time.

The one and only time I tried In-n-out was last fall in Carlsbad. I must have hit them on the off-night of all time, because it took us an hour and 10 minutes to get 2 burgers to go. They were decent burgers, but not worth 70 minutes' wait time.

Yes, I regularly enjoy IN-N-OUT with my wife at least three times a week. She simply can't get her chops round 'em quick enough!! In fact, she likes IN-N-OUT so much she got the T-shirt and Beach Towel to proclaim her satisfaction! Yep, as well as burgers their website offers a whole range of useful IN-N-OUT merchandise, although she was slightly disappointed with the beach towel as it was too small for her (I admit the one downside of our love affair with IN-N-OUT is that she's - how should I put it? - become generously proportioned in the burger bun department).

My only gripe is that they're still referring to French fries on their website. I mean, if House of Representatives' cafeterias have Freedom fries, then surely this great American purveyor of the finest, juiciest, and most wholesome burgers in CA can support our boys (and girls) in Iraq too!! Just my 2 cents

Ok... now I'm REALLY craving an In and Out burger and, of course, there aren't any here in NYC. When, oh when will they expand to the East Coast!!!!???? It's not fair! Can someone flash-freeze them and send them my way?

Congress switched back from freedom fries to french fries. Alas, freedom fries are no more.

Surfergirl: That's why I have a hands-free headset on my phone-- cuz the burger, the fries AND the Starbucks latte just get the phone all messy!!

It's oh so nice to be back in the land of great fast food! However, I had a couple of nice sit-down restaurant meals in Bucks County PA, so all was not lost in the "eat-out" department.

Maybe I'll have a Fatburger for lunch today...!

Wednesday I love Johhny Rockets!! We're fortunate enough to have one right across the street from our In N Out burger place!! My daughter has had many fun birthday parties at JR's.

I love their hamburgers and the way they make the smiley face with the ketchup. It's also fun to watch all the employees dance to YMCA!! Now I want a hamburger!! LOL ***kim***

kimamom: I like Johnny Rocket's too. I have one near my office (Third Street Promenade, Santa Monica) and near my house (Second Street, Long Beach) and they are definitely a reliable source of yummy burgers and fries. Have you ever been to the original, over there on Melrose Ave? Look for the long line of shiny Harleys in front-- bikers park there all the time, for some reason.

But I'm still jonesing for an In 'n' Out Double Double-- maybe this weekend!!

No, I have not been to that one but it would be fun to see it! My daughter's birthday is in a couple of weeks and I hope she wants her annual party at JR's!! We have just as much fun there as she does! ***kim***

Thanks everyone for the feed back on In-n-Out. We went to one on December 30th. The burger was great my husband and I both had a double with grilled and my kids both had a cheesebuger plain. They were awesome. All of us thought it was way better than McDees! But those fries.......they were the WORST!!!! It must be something in the processing and artificial everything that makes McDees fries taste so good. Nest time I will just bring a bag of chips!!

kgn, don't you remember when McDonalds proudly changed their fries a few years back and announced there was no animal fat? The results were horrible and they gave them back. Essentially what gives them the flavor is the lard they cook them in.

Just had In and Out for dinner. A cheeseburger with those grilled onions, fries and a pink lemonade!! I wonder why they don't serve any dessert there! Oh well, Krispy Creme is just a few steps away!! So much for the New Year's resolutions!! LOL ***kim***

Because of this thread, I made my friend take me to In and Out as soon as I got off the plane in LA last week. After my first bite, I sounded just like that character on the Big Lebowski "Now, that's a good burger." Seriously, we went back on New Year's Eve. It really is an exceptional burger.
