If you can move to another city, where and why?

I just chanced upon a similar thread in the Europe board. I figured that the question is interesting enough to be asked here.

I saw a show about Portland this morning (I've never been there) and all the bike trails and I wanted to move there!!! I'd love to ride my bike all over the place.

I would move to San Francisco in a heart beat. I feel in love with the city [and the surrounding areas] when we were there in March.

I hadn't been there since I was in high school; a lot of years ago -- it was so much better now!

The restaurants, the water, the bay area, wine country, monterey pennisula, the arts, the restaurants, ...did I mention the restaurants?

I saw that same show, wliwl! Also loved the piece on Marni Nixon.

I would choose San Francisco as well. so unique and a true city with access to other gorgeous areas like the wine country.

No unless it sinks beneath the ocean.

If I HAD to go someplace else - I guess SF - but while it has some of the same atmosphere and liberal attitudes - it just doens't have the grit.

Santa Barbara Ca for its temperate climates and a ocean that offers perfect waters for sailing, swimming and paddling. I should add that the perfect air quality is an added bonus for me.

I should mention that Santa Barbara offers a laid back environment that doesn't exist where I live now.

I'd move to San Diego. SF as well, but since my husband wouldn't move there, I guess that is out.

Santa Barbara...beautiful weather all year round; short distance to Malibu for beach. And not far from LA for great restaurants, shopping, etc and quick flight to San Francisco.
