I guess TECHNICALLY, at that time it is already New Year's Day. Anyway, WGN Radio in Chicago will be doing a live countdown with me on New Year’s Eve. They do a countdown around the country and heard we were the biggest show in town…I’ll be on the air with them from 11:55 p.m. till midnight. Tune in!

Ah yes, Steve and Johnnie (They are husband and wife) are a nightly fixture on WGN radio doing their "Life after Dark" show. They have been doing the New Years Eve Countdown off and on for the last 12 years or so and will be doing so again this New Years Eve starting at 11:10 CST ( so I guess they will miss the live NYC countdown )with live guests, music etc.
Happy New Year to all!

How exciting! I see from their website they have affiliates all over the country, so I wonder if people can simply hear it live from where they are. (They're not in Honolulu--only Volcano on the Big Island is affiliated with them.)

Melissa - I just saw this. Congratulations! I presume the 11:55 to 12:00 time slot is HST. True? Is that really 5:00 am Chicago time or does the variance in time change from HDT to HST? It's been so long since I've lived there, I guess I've forgotten (we will not blame it on old-guy memory lapse, OK?)

Well, I didn't get a shout out because they called kinda late...JUST in time for the countdown. I managed to tell them that it was a chilly 75 degrees in Honolulu and they were like, "OH! That's nasty! You're nasty!!!!"

LOL Mels!! Well, I must shamefully admit that I just couldn't stay awake all night... nor did I set the alarm. Bad girl!
Mauka Bob tried to stay up for you, but crashed out at about 3:00am. He ended up plowing out some of the neighbors after ringing in the new year with our friends. We ended up with about 4" of snowfall... made for a beautiful evening with all the candlight, Christmas lights and sparkle with big snow. Menu was king crab legs & filet with all the sides... and of course champagne. A fun time had by all!
Hau'oli Makahiki Hou!!
Happy New Year!!
See you next week!!
