Will I be allowed to drive it into Canada? What do you know about parameters/restrictions/extra fees for such a rental?

Each rental car company has its own rules - which you can find on website.

Don't try to cheat and go into Canada if the rental car company prohibits it. Many of the companies are putting GPs tracking units in the cars to see where you go.

You have to tell them in advance - or you won;t be covered by insurance if anythng happens. Also - if they ask for your car's papers at teh border and you don;t have them it could be considered theft.

Some agencies will let you do it and some won't - and some will charge a major drop-off charge if you leave it there versus bringing it back.

I've done it many times with a variety of car rental agencies, both on the East Coast and the West coast. Never been an issue. Agree that u need to check with the rental agency to be sure.
