Ideas For 50th Birthday In SF

Hi:

We'll be celebrating my sister's 50th in SF on a Monday in mid-April. (We'll only be there 3 days in total). Some ideas for the day are:

Any special restaurants you can recommend that won't break the bank? (One person in our party doesn't care for Asian or Thai so that would be out).

Any shows in town?

Wine tastings?

What about spending the day (or part of it) in Sausalito? Is that a nice area? (No car but we could take a ferry).

It's always fun to take a ferry to Sausalito. Check out Teatro Zinzanni. We went there for a birthday celebration and had a great time. www.teatrozinzanni.com

Also, have afternoon drinks at the Equinox room (the revolving bar on top of the Hyatt Embarcadero). Great views.

Beach Blanket Babylon followed by dinner at Moose, or if you want cheaper, one of the many less expensive Italian places in the neighborhood. (Beach Blanket Babylon is in North Beach). It's the sounds of your youth!

Beach Blanket Babylon, wonderful idea!

And lots of fun and good restaurants in North Beach.

Do go to the SF Chronical website which is www.sfgate.com. You will pick up a lot of ideas

We celebrated a friend's big birthday at Teatro Zinzanni also, and had an absolute blast. If you do this, be sure to tell them it's a 50th birthday, and dress up if you like. The staff loves it!
