I saw it. It was interesting. A nice solo performance by a talented actor. Had a spectacular set, I thought. But frankly, I thought it was a bit boring. OK, so the basic story was interesting, but it went nowhere. When it was all over, I didn't really feel I "knew" this person any better than when it started. After a while I thought the impersonation became "stale", no character development or change of pace, mood, or intensity. This was nowhere near the interest and entertainment level of other single or two character pieces of the type.
Just my opinion.

We had great seats which always helps, I thought the actor and the writer were brillant. Perhaps we were there on an "on" night, and perhaps it helped to know somewhat the story line and the historical references. This is a one man show, and the actor does, an amazing job taking the audience at times, rapidly from one character to the next. Award winning indeed!

Boy, this play sure evokes a lot of different reactions. I was enchanted. The acting was unbelievable and I found the story intriguing. As to not knowing the character, that is kind of the point. His/her life was always a mystery and he/she didn't even have a firm grip on what he was.
I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great performance and a thought-provoking script. On the other hand, its not for you if you want bubbly feel--good stuff.
